Lake Country Journal Haiti Connection

Welcome to the Lake Country Journal Haiti Connection.

Although many people are giving generously, the needs are huge and the urgency will be ongoing. For the past few years, we have worked with local businesses (listed on page one of the linked online booklet), Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, and St. Joseph's Medical Center, as well as local philanthropists and Rotary clubs—providing medical assistance, building homes, helping with agriculture, water-sourcing, technology, taking care of orphans, and church construction. The many gifts and talents of the Lake Country volunteers who are assisting with the needs in Haiti are as diverse as the needs to be met.

The Haiti Connection booklet contains information collected from Chip Borkenhagen's journaling about this endeavor a few years ago. It provides two direct sources to financially assist the Haitians. All donations are well spent with no "administrative" costs.

If you have any questions on taking part in the relief efforts from our region, please feel free to contact me (chip@lakecountryjournal.com) or visit www.ProjectHaiti.net.

As a nation and a people we are often judged by our kindnesses. Please consider this as a golden opportunity for us all to shine.
