Follow these basic steps to create a leaf print:

1. Select a flat leaf. Maple or oak is good and sturdy, with prominent veins.

2. Use art stamp pads which have a raised foam surface.

3. “Stamp” your leaf on the back (under) side where the veining is clearest.

4. Lay your leaf, inked side down, on the front of a blank greeting card.

5. Put a piece of scrap paper over it, and press evenly all over the leaf. Use your thumb or the bottom of a spoon to press down. Hold the leaf firmly with your other hand to keep it from moving under the pressure.

6. Lift the leaf off carefully and admire your first print!
