As an ATV rider, I enjoy riding on trails. I don't like losing area that I can ride on. And as a property owner it drives me crazy when I see someone has used my property to make their own trail through it. I caught the person and it was a young man of about 14 or 15 driving a UTV through my property. I told him he was trespassing and he said he did not see signs. I don't have to sign my property, you need to know where the lines are. Not knowing is not an excuse, and actually because we knew we had trespassers we put signs all the way around our property. I guess he did not look very well. I told him that what he was doing does not look good to the ATV UTV riders. People want them gone because of what he is doing. I hope I don't catch him again or I may have to contact local authorities. There are trespass laws.
Thank you for your comment. I hope you found the information in the attached landowners' survey sponsored by the University of Minnesota and the Central Region Sustainable Development Partnership helpful, as a landowner and ATV rider yourself.
